Made-to-measure for individuals who fall outside a size range, and reorder programmes for organisations that need a top-up rather than a fresh order.

The reorder is the part worth explaining. A jacket labelled 40R from one maker and a jacket labelled 40R from another are not the same garment; the difference is visible standing next to each other, and it is entirely normal. So an organisation that reorders from whoever is cheapest that year ends up with a team in four generations of nearly-matching jackets.

We hold the pattern block, the maker, the cloth reference and the individual measurement records against your account, and quote a top-up against that record. That is usually worth more to a programme than anything else on the quote, and it costs you nothing to have.

For made-to-measure we measure shoulder first for the reason this whole site is built on, then work outward. Alterations to sleeve, waist and length are included in the process because they are expected; a shoulder correction means a new jacket, which is why we get it right at the sample stage.

Because it is the only measurement that cannot be corrected afterwards. Sleeve, waist and length are routine alterations. A shoulder that is wrong means a different jacket, so it is the measurement we settle at the sample stage rather than at delivery.
